Accountability

Dear Men,

Welcome to the final session with pastor Aaron Pino. Why do most men avoid accountability? Is it because of fear, a lack of true relationships where a man can be open and honest with others, or is it because men are an emotional “lock box” that cannot be opened? Men must realize that it is not good to be isolation. Isolation is not a strength for men; it’s a weakness.

“Though I know intellectually how vulnerable I am to pride and power, I am the last one to know when I succumb to their seduction. That’s why spiritual Lone Rangers are so dangerous – and why we must depend on trusted brothers and sisters who love us enough to tell us the truth.”

– Charles Colson

Men are created for connection and relationships. In this devotional, Pastor Aaron Pino will say “Transformation happens in the context of relationships.” This speaks to the great need for us as men to find and build trusted relationships with other men that can challenge us, pray for us, and speak into our lives. Yes, accountability is a risk, it’s about being open and vulnerable, if we’re honest, transformation will not take place without trust, vulnerability, and accountability.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
